Why can’t I hang glass-framed pictures with adhesive hooks?

At Permastik, your safety and the protection of your belongings are our top priorities. For this reason, all of our packaging clearly states:

“Do not hang valuable items (especially framed glass pictures, clocks, irreplaceable items, etc.).”

Why this caution is important:

Self-adhesive products like our picture hooks depend on several factors to work effectively, such as:

  • The type and condition of the surface

  • Proper cleaning and preparation before application

  • Correct handling and use after installation

Although our products are tested and quality-checked under controlled conditions, real-world environments often differ. Factors like humidity, temperature changes, or subtle differences in wall texture can affect adhesive strength. Because of this, performance in your home or office may vary, and we cannot guarantee results in every situation.

Our recommendation:

We strongly advise not using self-adhesive products to hang valuable or irreplaceable items. This includes:

  • Glass-framed pictures

  • Clocks

  • Mirrors

  • Items with sentimental or high replacement value

While our products are reliable for everyday items, adhesive applications always carry some level of risk. For delicate, heavy, or valuable objects, traditional hanging methods (such as wall anchors or screw-in hooks) are a safer choice.
